More about the VR9 GRP cabinet:
The VR9 is a large double door floor-standing GRP cabinet measuring 1455mm wide, 700mm deep and 1485mm high, with a 1185mm x 1200mm door opening and a generous 1220mm x 1220mm 18mm ply backboard fitted as standard — a substantial amount of mounting space.
What is the VR9 cabinet used for?
With both width and depth, the VR9 suits larger electrical installations — distribution, switchgear and small package-substation equipment, transformers and control panels — as well as sizeable water and gas control sets. Its non-conductive GRP shell is a safe, maintenance-light housing for utility plant.
How secure is the VR9?
The twin doors carry four stainless steel hinges, two shoot bolts, a Yale-type lock and a compression seal as standard.
Is the VR9 suitable for permanent utility sites?
Yes — GRP doesn’t corrode or degrade in UV, so the VR9 is built for decades of service on exposed substation and pumping compounds with minimal upkeep.
What colours does the VR9 come in?
Green (BS 14-C-39) or grey as standard — British Standard references, not RAL — with any custom colour to a BS or RAL reference on request. See our guides to British Standard colours and RAL colours.
