More about the VR5 GRP Enclosure:
The VR5 is a double door floor-standing GRP enclosure measuring 910mm wide, 450mm deep and 1225mm high. Its twin doors open to a wide 760mm x 1050mm aperture for easy access, and a 760mm x 1020mm 18mm ply backboard is fitted as standard. Construction is GRP with a gel-coat exterior and a fire-retardant resin internal finish.
What is the VR5 enclosure used for?
The wide double-door opening makes the VR5 a good fit for gas governor and pressure-reduction housings, district metering, electrical distribution and switchgear, and water-industry control panels. Being non-conductive and spark-free, GRP is a natural choice for gas and utility installations.
How secure is the VR5?
The double doors carry four stainless steel hinges, two shoot bolts and a Yale-type lock as standard, with a compression seal to keep the weather out.
Will the VR5 cope outdoors?
GRP is weatherproof, UV-stable and corrosion-free, so the VR5 stands up to rain, frost and sun with very little upkeep across a long service life.
What colours does the VR5 come in?
Green (BS 14-C-39) or grey as standard — British Standard references, not RAL — with any custom colour to a BS or RAL reference on request. See our guides to British Standard colours and RAL colours.
