More about the VR6 GRP cabinet:
The VR6 is a double door floor-standing GRP cabinet measuring 1095mm wide, 475mm deep and 1320mm high, with a 900mm x 1090mm door opening and a 920mm x 1070mm 18mm ply backboard fitted as standard. It is moulded in GRP with a gel-coat exterior and fire-retardant resin internal finish, and bolts to a prepared base.
What is the VR6 cabinet used for?
The VR6 is well suited to electrical distribution and DNO work — switchgear, metering, feeder-pillar and service-connection equipment — as well as gas and water control gear. As a non-conductive GRP cabinet it eliminates touch-voltage risk in public and PADS-specified areas.
How secure is the VR6?
Four stainless steel hinges, two shoot bolts, a Yale-type lock and a compression seal come as standard on the twin doors.
Does it need much maintenance?
Very little — GRP doesn’t rust or rot, so beyond the occasional clean the VR6 looks after itself even on exposed roadside and compound sites.
What colours does the VR6 come in?
Green (BS 14-C-39) or grey as standard — British Standard references, not RAL — with any custom colour to a BS or RAL reference on request. See our guides to British Standard colours and RAL colours.
