More about the VR4 GRP cabinet:
The VR4 is a single door floor-standing GRP cabinet measuring 750mm wide, 400mm deep and 1100mm high, with a wide 560mm x 850mm door opening and an 18mm surface-treated ply backboard as standard. Built in GRP with a gel-coat exterior and fire-retardant resin internal finish, it bolts down to a prepared base.
What goes inside a VR4 cabinet?
The VR4 suits electrical metering and service connections, small distribution boards, EV-charging point controls, street-lighting and traffic equipment, and telecoms cabinets. Because GRP is non-conductive and non-corrosive, the cabinet needs no earthing and shrugs off the weather year after year.
How is the VR4 secured?
Two stainless steel hinges, a Yale-type lock and a compression seal come as standard, so the door stays secure and weather-tight in public locations.
Is the VR4 cabinet suitable for the coast?
Yes — GRP doesn’t corrode, so the VR4 is well suited to coastal and marine-air sites where a steel cabinet would rust, with minimal maintenance over its life.
What colours does the VR4 come in?
Green (BS 14-C-39) or grey as standard — British Standard references, not RAL — with any custom colour to a BS or RAL reference on request. See our guides to British Standard colours and RAL colours.
