More about the WM13 GRP cabinet:
The WM13 is a wall-mounting GRP cabinet measuring 852mm wide, 350mm deep and 1056mm high. It is moulded in one piece from glass-reinforced polyester with a smooth gel-coat finish, finished in grey RAL 7035 as standard, and sealed to IP66 with an IK10 impact rating — built to live outdoors and take a knock.
What is the WM13 used for?
At 852x350x1056mm it suits full distribution boards, compact motor-control assemblies, switchgear and metering, larger control and automation panels, wall-mounted feeder pillars and utility intake, rail trackside power and signalling, and water-treatment control. Because GRP is naturally non-conductive it removes any touch-voltage risk, which makes the WM13 a sound choice on footways, forecourts and other public or wet locations as well as inside plant rooms.
How does it stand up outdoors?
GRP doesn’t rust, rot or corrode, and it shrugs off UV, rain, frost and salt air with very little maintenance — which is why GRP cabinets are a standard pick for coastal, water, rail and process-plant sites where a steel box would be rusting within a season. The IK10 shell resists impact and the material carries no scrap value, so it’s of no interest to metal thieves.
How does the WM13 lock and open?
Its door is hung on stainless-steel hinges, seals on a one-piece polyurethane gasket and carries a built-in rain canopy; it can be re-hung either side simply by turning it over and opens right back to 120° (180° with the door lifted off) for easy access. It is secured with a four-point cam lock as standard, with a stainless padlock hasp available where a site needs keyed-alike or padlocked access.
How is it mounted and fitted out?
The WM13 fixes to a wall on four external brackets, clear of the sealed area so the enclosure stays weather-tight, and a pole-mount kit is available where there’s no wall to use. An internal mounting plate (galvanised steel, polyester or insulating grade) drops onto the fixing studs and is specified separately so you get the right backplate for the gear going in.
What colours and sizes does it come in?
Grey RAL 7035 as standard, with green (BS 14-C-39) or any British Standard or RAL colour on request. The WM13 is 852x350x1056mm; browse the full wall-mounted range for other sizes, or our floor-standing enclosures for larger plant.
